I visited the MEGA Don Quijote Shibuya main store, which is currently very popular among tourists. Upon entering the store, I saw a pop-up sign in English, and it was crowded with many foreign tourists. Souvenirs were the main items on display, but there were also many daily necessities such as detergents and cosmetics. The store has one basement level and seven floors above ground, and is very spacious, as the name “MEGA” implies. After introducing the car goods available at this don Quijote, I would like to introduce other products.
Finally, I will give you some special information for those who want to avoid the crowds, so please read to the end.

Mini 4WD (Tamiya)
One of the most popular toys for car enthusiasts is the mini four wheel drive. Mini 4WD is a small, battery-powered, motor-driven model of a racing car. It is fun to assemble it by yourself and change the motor and other parts to make a faster car. You can buy such mini 4WD cars here at Don Quijote! Moreover, there are quite a variety of models to choose from, which is exciting to see.
Behind the shelves, there were also circuits and parts for mini 4WD. It’s convenient to have it all here in one store.
Tomica (miniature car)
Tomica almost resembles a real car in terms of suspension, doors opening and closing, and so on. I have about 100 of them at home, and once I start collecting them, I can’t stop. This don Quijote has shelves packed with all kinds of Tomicas, from regular Tomicas to long Tomicas.
On the back of the shelves are Tomicassettes, such as a set of three HONDA NSXs, and Mario Kart Tomicas. There are also model trains, which will satisfy even the most die-hard train enthusiasts.
Other Souvenirs
Suitcases
This is a very popular product at Don Quijote. It seems that people buy them when they can no longer fit their souvenirs. There were many different colors and designs lined up in a tight row, so you are sure to find something you like.
Japanese Souvenir Clothes
Here, too, you will find a wide range of shirts, from the standard I love Japan shirts to shirts with sumo wrestlers on them. This section is about three shelves wide. How about a standard souvenir at Donki? The image is as follows.
Electronics
You will find many appliances that are unique to Japan. Takoyaki (octopus dumplings), yakiniku grilling plates, tabletop stoves, pots and pans, and other items are as well stocked as you would find at an electronics store.
Sushi Magnets
This is my personal favorite product. It is a magnet with sushi that looks like the real thing. The design is so cute, you will want to put it on your refrigerator or locker. I recommend this souvenir!
Nintendo Switch
Nintendo Switch is very popular around the world, and we also had game software and covers. The variety of products is astonishing! There are some software only available in Japan, so please take a good look at them.
Character goods
Many Japanese character goods such as Mario and Sanrio (Hello Kitty) are sold here. Key chains, giant plush toys, and other gifts for fans are sure to please!
Brand items
Used brand goods are one of the specialties of Don Quijote. They were sold at a considerable discount. It does not mean that they are fake, but that they are all genuine. If you are interested, please have a look.
Daily necessities (cosmetics, shampoo, etc.)
There are cosmetics, shampoos, lip balms, detergents, etc. made by Japanese manufacturers. I was surprised to see more tourists buying these items than I had expected. It is not easy to buy these products abroad, so they may be considered a rarity.
Sweets
Pocky, Kikonoyama (chocolate candy), and other very popular Japanese snacks are sold here.
Rare flavors such as strawberry flavor are also available!
Japanese sake
There was also a sake corner. It is quite small compared to the other corners, but sake has become quite popular recently, so if you are interested in any, please pick one up.
Event goods
This is another Don Quijote staple, event goods. At the time of the interview, Christmas was near, so many Santa Claus costumes were lined up. During Halloween, fancy dress costumes are lined up.
Don Pen Goods
The last item I would like to introduce is Don Quijote goods. There are shirts and hoodies for sale that use Don Quijote’s origiral characters. There are many very cute designs and it was a popular area.
Summary and Special info
2-25-12 Dogenzaka, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, Japan
We introduced MEGA Don Quijote Shibuya Main Store, which is currently very popular among tourists. When you come to Japan, please stop by and buy lots of souvenirs.
Last but not least, some good deals. There is actually another don Quijote in the building across the street from this store. The selection is not as large as MEGA’s, but it is a one-story store, so you can shop without taking the elevator. Also, there are very few people, so it is highly recommended for those who want to take their time to look at only the standard items.
Please take a look at the Japanese souvenirs that car lovers will enjoy.
